May 12, 2025 - CR 2625 was the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from which a child was life-flighted by helicopter.

Dreka Community Scene of Fatal Shooting Incident

May 12, 2025 - Emergency personnel were dispatched to a residence on the 3000 block of CR 2164 in the Dreka Community in reference to a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Just before 3:30pm, officers and emergency medical services were dispatched to the location.

Marla Denby, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, was requested to the scene and she performed the inquest on Mark Wesley Jackson, 52, of Shelbyville, as well as requesting an autopsy.

May 9, 2025 - The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Five Way public water system, 2100008, on May 3, 2025 to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
