October 24, 2015 - The intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and U.S. Highway 84 in Timpson was the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Friday, October 23, 2015.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene one truck was in the southbound traffic lane while another was partially in an intersecting lane and on the median facing west.

According to Timpson Police Officer Jake Metcalf, at 4:30pm he was dispatched to the crash scene. A maroon 1989 GMC pickup truck driven by Debbie Hamilton, 25, of Jacksonville was traveling east on U.S. Highway 84 when she stopped at the intersection with U.S. Highway 59. The GMC pulled out into U.S. 59 and failed to yield right of way to a maroon Ford F-250 driven by Jeffery Fanguy, 48, of Timpson who was traveling south on U.S. 59 causing the Ford to collide with the left rear quarter panel of the GMC, and causing damage to both vehicles.

The Ford remained in the southbound traffic lane, while the GMC spun around across the median and came to rest facing the southbound traffic lanes. The Timpson Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene for traffic control and assisted the Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service personnel (TVAS) in moving injured parties to the waiting TVAS ambulance and ACE EMS ambulance.

Fanguy was not reported at the scene to have been injured. Luman, Hamilton and three other occupants from within the GMC, a 4-month-old male child, 18-month-old female child, and 7-year-old female child were all transported to a hospital in Nacogdoches for treatment.
