March 7, 2017 - State Troopers responded to a fatal crash on US 84 Tuesday morning. This is the fourth fatal crash in the Joaquin area over the past 11 days for emergency personnel to work.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, a single vehicle crash occurred Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017. DPS was dispatched to the crash scene at 6:15am on US 84, one tenth of a mile west of CR 3790.
A tan 2008 KIA Optima appeared to have been west bound on US 84 when it left the roadway and skidded into a tree. The driver, Richard Wayne Everett, III, 23 of Tenaha, was deceased when officers arrived. Justice of the Peace, Pct 3, Margie Anderson performed the inquest at 7:15am.
The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the crash to extricate the driver from the vehicle. Watson and Sons Funeral Home transported Everett from the scene.
The crash was investigated by TxDPS State Trooper Jesse Fountain.
