U.S. 96 Scene of Crash; One Transported to Hospital

March 13, 2019 - Emergency responders were alerted to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 96 North outside of Tenaha on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

One individual received possible injuries as a result and was transported to a hospital. 

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers Dustin Ramos and Taylor Buster, at 11:45am during inclement weather Judy Willard, 52, of Carthage with passenger Vince Willard, 48, were southbound on U.S. Highway 96 in a silver Hyundai Odyssey minivan in the outside lane.

Willard stated another vehicle was changing lanes into their Hyundai, and in attempts of avoiding a collision the Hyundai left the roadway and entered a side skid before colliding aith a culvert and flipped over CR 4382 and came to rest on its top facing the roadway beside a large culvert.

Vince Willard was transported from the scene by ambulance to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department for treatment of unknown injuries. 

Additonal units with the Tenaha Volunteer Fire Department and Tenaha Police Department were also at the location to assist the troopers.
