July 7, 2022 - John Price was sworn-in as the new Shelby County Attorney during a ceremony held July 5, 2022, at the Shelby County Courthouse in the 273rd Judicial District Courtroom.

Price was chosen by the commissioners to take the office of Shelby County Attorney following the resignation of Gary Rholes from the position.

To allow for the occurrence of a commissioner quorum, County Judge Allison Harbison scheduled the event for a commissioenr meeting and with a quorum established, the meeting was opened.

After the meeting began, Judge Harbison administered the oath of office to Mr. Price and he thanked everyone.

"I want to simply say to the commissioners and everyone here, everyone in the county government that's served this county and this state so well for so long that I'm pleased to think that maybe I can contribute a little bit," said Price. "I'll certainly tell each and every one of you I'll do my best, bear with me, it'll take me a little while to get my feet on the ground but with the help of this good body, this honorable judge that I've had the priviledge of working with for a number of years now, I think we can make things a little better."

A motion then carried by the commissioners to approve the surety bond for John Price.

The meeting was then adjourned.
