David's Daily Devotion for October 7

October 7, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, October 7.

Our annual county fall festival started yesterday. I had the blessing to be in our church ice-cream booth as the festivities began and I’ll be there when everything ends on Saturday night. We’re enjoying perfect weather, our remodeled town square looks beautiful, and all signs point to the biggest and best “Poultry Fest” ever!

The festival kicked off with a ceremony that featured a prayer by our Methodist pastor, a good friend. We pledged allegiance to the flag led by a group of kindergartners. We sang the National Anthem played by the high school band. And the Poultry Fest Queen "cut the feathers," declaring the 2022 event officially open.

Events like ours, county fairs and harvest festivals, go on all across America each year. Events that give communities, large and small, the chance to celebrate what makes them unique. The chance to be proud of what they raise, what they make, what they stand for, who they are.

And so, I sit in our ice-cream booth, watching our town walk by. Enjoying the beautiful autumn weather, enjoying friends, enjoying family. And thanking God for His blessings.

We are blessed.

Meet you back here on Monday,
Bro. David
