David's Daily Devotion for December 2

December 2, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, December 2.

On this day in 1867, the British author Charles Dickens read his work in America for the very first time. The greatest writer of the Victorian era stepped onto the stage of Steinway Hall in New York City, and read from one of his most famous books - A Christmas Carol. Here are a few quotes from that classic.

*I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year long.

*It is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty Founder was a Child Himself.

*God bless us, every one!

Dickens has always been one of my favorite writers. And biographers tell us that he was a devout Christian. A Christmas Carol resonates with the message of the Bethlehem angel, the message of peace and goodwill, the message of Christmas.

Starting next week, we’ll focus on some of our favorite carols, and the inspiring stories behind them.

Meet you back here on Monday,
Bro. David
