January 25, 2024 - Timpson Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD) responded to a house fire on CR 4772 outside of Timpson on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Fire personnel were dispatched to the fire at 9:22am and when they arrived the structure was fully involved.
Fire fighters worked to extinguish the blaze and called for assistance from neighboring departments. They were assisted by fire fighters from Garrison Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), West Shelby County VFD, Joaquin VFD, and Appleby/Central Heights VFD who assisted with a brush fire that developed behind the house.
Although many arrived to provide support in fighting the fire, the house was a total loss to the fire.
Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative was on scene to assist in disconnecting power to the house.
The fire personnel cleared the scene at 12:51pm.
Josh Tipton, Shelby County Constable Precinct 5, and Roy Cheatwood, Shelby County Constable Precinct 3, assisted at the scene with traffic control.
