David's Daily Devotion for June 13

June 13, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Thursday, June 13.

As I write this, 50 of our teenagers are in the middle of youth camp. And 30 of our children leave for their camp this Saturday. Exciting times. Lots of prayers are going up right now, asking God to touch young hearts. To Him be the glory for all that He is doing, and for all He will do.

It's a good idea to get away from the everyday once in a while. When we find ourselves in a new location it gives us a new perspective. I think that's particularly true when that new location is surrounded by nature. We can hear our Creator's voice more clearly when we're surrounded by His beautiful creation.

Jesus, as always, is our best example. He knew that it was important to His ministry, to His physical, mental, and spiritual health, to take time off from time to time. We see an example of this in Mark 6:30-32.

"The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported all the things that they had done. Then Jesus said to them, 'Come away with me to a quiet place and get some rest'. And so, they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place".

If Jesus needed to refresh, restore, renew, replenish - how much more do you and I need to do that as well.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
