Sometimes God sends unexpected blessings. And sometimes those blessings come during challenging times. In March of 2020 the world was struck by a catastrophe unlike any we had ever seen. The Covid pandemic took many lives and closed schools, closed businesses, closed churches.
As First Baptist Church of Center shut down, I prayed about a way that I could maintain a connection with our church volunteers. And in that moment, four and a half years ago, I started to send out a daily devotion. The original 30 email addresses grew to several hundred, and in 2021 these little thoughts began to be posted on the Shelby County Today website.
Over a thousand devotions later, I can say that this experience, born in a dark time, has been a great blessing to me. And, through frequent kind notes from faithful readers, I'm aware that these daily thoughts have been a blessing to others, as well. To God be all the glory.
