October 11, 2024 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the City of Timpson will be held on the 15th day of October, 2024 at 5:30pm at Timpson Volunteer Fire Dept, 305 Jacob St, Timpson, Texas, for the Regular Meeting at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:
1. Call to Order
2. Invocation
3. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge
4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.
5. Presentations and Recognitions The City of Timpson sent Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center a check in the amount of $529.59 (child safety fee) to recognize the Center for their efforts in Child Abuse Prevention through educational programs and events throughout the county.
6. Citizens Input: This time is provided for members of the public to address the city Council on items that appear within the Consent and Action Items or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form may be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting.

Public Works –Updates
City Secretary – Jericho Ride 2024 (Christian motorcycle club) on the square, November 2nd, 8:30am – 3:00pm.
8. Consent Agenda: Items included under the Consent Agenda require little or no deliberation by the Council. Approval of the Consent Agenda authorizes the City Secretary to proceed with the conclusion of each item as reflected in the Minutes of this meeting.

Regular Agenda Items (9-14)
9. Discuss and take action: Open and read aloud the bids received for the construction of the Public Works building and possibly award the contractor for the project.
10. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval of Duplichain quote for water line replacement in the amount of $10,600 and the sewer crossing repair in the amount of $6,500, at Lift Station #3.
11. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval of Ordinance 20241015-02 adopting the 2024-2025 Final Tax Rate of $0.3622 per $100 of value.
12. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval to solicit bids for the removal of several dead trees and stump removal/grinding at the Woodlawn Cemetery, using funds from the Cemetery Savings account.
13. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval to remove the existing tower from back of City Hall and place the repeater equipment (covered by insurance) to the City Water Tower.
14. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval of COLA raises for full-time City employees.
15. Adjourn.
