Shelby County Marching Bands to Perform at the "Region 21 Marching Contest"

October 15, 2024 - The talented Shelby County marching bands are eagerly anticipating their upcoming performance on October 19, 2024 at the prestigious "Region 21 Marching Contest." Each ensemble has dedicated countless hours of rigorous practice and preparation, eager to showcase their musical prowess and synchronization on the competitive stage.

The UIL Region 21 Marching Contest will be held at Longview Lobo Stadium. The address is 3012 Airline Rd, Longview, TX 75605.

Should the bands be fortunate enough to earn a coveted Division 1 rating at the contest, they will have the remarkable opportunity to travel to Waco, Texas and perform at the renowned McLane Stadium on October 29th. This prestigious event would serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication of these young musicians, who have poured their hearts and souls into perfecting their marching routines and musical interpretations.

The marching order for the Shelby County bands is as follows:

  • The Timpson Bear Band will take the field at 11:30 AM.
  • The Tenaha Tiger Band will perform at 12:00 PM.
  • The Shelbyville Dragon Band will grace the stage at 12:15 PM.
  • The Joaquin Ram Band will showcase their talents at 1:15 PM.

The 2A ratings will be made at 1:30 PM. 

  • The Center Roughrider Band will take the field at 5:30 PM. 

The 4A ratings will be made at 7:30 PM.
