October 21, 2024 - I would like to announce my candidacy for the Center Independent School District Board of Trustees.
I'm a 2004 graduate of Center ISD and just an everyday blue collar worker in the oil and gas industries for the past 18 years. I have a son in middle school, a nephew in high school, and a niece and nephew at F.L. Moffett.
I have lived in Center my entire life, and over the last 6 years I have been active in coaching Dixie Baseball, being involved in many kids' lives each year and watching them grow. I truly believe we have a good community and want to try and make the very best of our school system.
I would like to see our school progress forward while holding on to our community values that we hold dear. Every year we are losing good teachers. If I'm elected, I would try my best to get to the bottom of why we lose so many teachers and kids each year, and stand behind our teachers.
I would listen to the public and would definitely voice my opinion. I believe we need to hold people accountable for their actions and fix the problems. I would also love to see our school grow in the agriculture department and agriculture mechanics.
Get more kids involved in the FFA and other programs to teach them life skills. We need the kids involved in classes that will later be beneficial to them and our community.
These kids are our future, and we need to invest in them. I would be grateful for the opportunity to serve the community in this role.
