This Week at The Patricia Huffman Smith NASA Museum

January 7, 2015 - We are having a gathering on February 1, 2016 to honor and remember all the astronauts, helicopter crew, search parties, and everyone who had a part in helping during this time. We are so thankful and lucky to have such a support group and wonderful following of the museum and all it stands for. We are looking forward to holding this event. It will be at 7:45 am and admission to the museum will be free all day. We are going to have breakfast and drinks for those who attend. Again, we cannot say thanks again to all involved and look forward to seeing you on February 1, 2016.

We want to thank all of our visitors both, locally and out of state, who stopped by this week for a visit. The holidays are a great time to stop by and visit. We look forward to sharing all the museum has to offer to its visitors. There are many things you can see at the Museum from NASA artifacts to items on loan by the families of the astronauts of STS-107 to items on loan from many other donors.

We also have an amazing gift shop full of really cool gifts. You will find items for children and adults alike, such as 3D space puzzles, space suit back packs, inflatable space shuttles, NASA ties & golf balls, space ice cream, coffee mugs and drinking glasses to name a few of the items. We also have a wide selection of shirts, hats and apparel. Christmas is just around the corner. Come shop the gift shop and find the perfect gift for your special someone.

We encourage our many students and schools, including home schoolers, to take advantage of our Digital Learning Network system. Through our connections directly with NASA, students can have a virtual experience with NASA personnel without leaving the county. Through these programs, students learn about subjects such as microgravity, food in space, erosion, weather, the solar system, robots, rovers, to name a few. Come out today and get your personal tour. Contact the museum to get your classroom set up for our Digital Learning Network @ 409-787-4827 or if you have any question contact Becca.

The hours of operation for the Patricia Huffman Smith NASA “Remembering Columbia” Museum are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays, however, tours will be given by appointment only on these days.

The Patricia Huffman Smith NASA “Remembering Columbia” Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We appreciate your support. Please contact Becca Tatum for more information.
