February 11, 2025 - The Shelby County Commissioners decided to move forward with the purchase of a truck for Precinct 3 and approved one of the bids submitted during their January 27, 2025 meeting.
The commissioners considered the purchase of a new truck for Precinct 3, and after Commissioner Stevie Smith reviewed the two bids received, he concluded that Performance Truck out of Lufkin more readily adhered to the specifications the county requested bid met and could have the truck ready four months sooner than the other bidder.
Commissioner Smith moved to accept the bid from Performance Truck out of Lufkin in the amount of $147,876.80, and he received a second to his motion from Commissioner Shannon Metcalf. The motion carried.
