Shelbyville HS UIL Students Win State-AA Academic Championship

May 22, 2025 - Shelbyville High School Academic UIL students competed at the 2025 State-AA Academic UIL Meet at the University of Texas, Austin on May 19-20. Scoring 168 total points including points earned previously from Congress (January) and CX Debate (March). They are the State-AA Academic UIL Champions!

Individual Awards:

  • Brynn Bickham: Feature Writing - 5th Place; Ready Writing - 1st Place
  • Travis Caporali: Informative Speaking - 1st Place; Poetry Interpretation - 2nd Place
  • Justin Filz: Science - 2nd Place; Chemistry - 1st Place; Physics - 1st Place
  • Cassidy Greer: Essay Competition - 5th place
  • Ethan Jackson: Number Sense - 2nd Place
  • Elizabeth Marin: Lincoln Douglas Debate - 5th Place
  • Kaylin Miller: News Writing - 1st Place
  • Malachi Sierra: Number Sense - 1st Place
