October 7, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, October 7.
Did you know that you can take a picture of something with your smart phone - a plant, a flower, an animal, an object, anything - and then push a little button and your phone will tell you what it’s called and some facts about it? You probably already knew that, but I just learned about it last week. As far as modern technology goes, I’m usually way behind the learning curve. But I know it now, and I’ve been snapping photos to beat the band.
But I’ve also learned that you can’t always trust your phone to give you an accurate answer. I took a picture of my parlor organ, hoping to find out some information about it, and my phone replied with a one-word message - “Nacogdoches.” OK, I’m pretty certain that my parlor organ is not called Nacogdoches. And so now I’ve begun to wonder - can I trust my phone?
Trust is an important element in every facet of life - job relationships, business relationships, personal relationships. These days it’s hard to know who or what to trust. Can we be sure that the information we receive from TV or the internet or politicians is true? Perhaps you’ve had times when you struggled to trust friends or even family. Lack of trust breeds uncertainty, destroys confidence, fosters fear.
Millions choose to trust in the Word of God, in the wisdom of the Bible, in the teachings of Christ. And when it comes down to it - trust is always a matter of choice, isn’t it?
Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie. Psalm 40:4
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
