Flood Watch Issued for Shelby County Through Sunday


A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of Deep East Texas and Toledo Bend Country beginning overnight tonight until 1 am on Sunday.

October 24, 2025 - Flood Watch issued October 24 at 1:35pm until Sunday, October 26 at 1am by National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA.

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible for portions of northwest Louisiana, including the following parish, Sabine and Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Upshur and Wood.

From midnight  tonight through late Saturday night excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Additional Details: Rainfall accumulations of 1.5 to 3 inches are expected within the watch area, with locally higher amounts of 4 inches or more possible. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions: You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.


There is a chance for flash flooding across the majority of the region and strong to severe thunderstorms on Saturday with the greatest threat for the southern half of Northeast Texas and portions of Northern Louisiana. All modes of severe weather will be possible.
