David's Daily Devotion for November 14

November 14, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, November 14.

There are many different ways to study God’s Word. Some prefer a topical style, others pursue a verse by verse technique, while still others like a deep approach. Here at the Daily Devotion we take biblical stories, characters, and scriptures, and weave them together with cultural themes, historical moments, and everyday experiences. I pray that these little thoughts are a blessing.

However you approach it, Bible study should be a life-long commitment. I hope that you spend time in the Word every day. Here’s some study suggestions that might make that time more productive and more meaningful.

  • Research the passage. Who wrote it? Who was it written to? What was it written for? What was the historical and cultural environment in which it was written? Answering these questions gives context, and context gives understanding.
  • Read the passage several times. Repetition is a wonderful teaching tool. Give your mind, and your heart, the time to digest the truth of God.
  • Meditate on the passage. Be still. Be quiet. Allow the Holy Spirit the opportunity to teach you.
  • Pray over the passage. You need God’s power to perceive God’s Word. Ask Him for it.
  • Return to the passage. Can you think of even one ability that you have, that you mastered in one moment? The things that matter deserve our continued attention over time. What matters more than scripture?

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.” - 2 Timothy 2:15

Meet you back here on Monday,
