December 3, 2025 - On December 3, 1966, Luna 8, a spacecraft from Russia, crash landed on the Moon. Just a bit of space trivia. But a reminder, surprising to some, that when the Eagle landed at Tranquility Base in the summer of 1969, with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin aboard, it wasn’t the first time that a man-made object had touched the lunar surface.
In fact, by 1969, over 30 ships had landed on the moon. All but seven of them crash landed. If I had been Neil Armstrong, I don’t think I would have liked those odds very much. But NASA (and the Soviets) had been spending years, and billions of dollars, practicing. And, as they say, practice makes perfect. The Bible says that, too.
*Philippians 4:9 - Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
*I Timothy 4:15 - Practice these things; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.
Sometimes we fall, sometimes we fail, sometimes we crash land - but we can get back up through the power of God.
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
