Green Announces Candidacy for District Clerk of Shelby County

December 8, 2025 - As many of you know, I, Dee Dee Green, served as Justice of the Peace in Precinct 4 for over 2 years, but few know the extent of my background and experience. In 1997, I began my career at the Clerk of Courts’ office in Gwinnett County, Georgia, as a Deputy Clerk. From there, I was approached by a Superior Court Judge in Gwinnett and became his Calendar Coordinator in 2001, where I remained until 2014, when I was approached by a State Court Judge in the same county to be his Judicial Executive Assistant. In 2017, I went back to the Superior Court Judge as his Judicial Executive Assistant and remained until I received a Facebook Friend request from an old flame and moved to Timpson (Bobo) to be with the love of my life, Cade Green.

In January 2023, I began working as a legal assistant in the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office until I was appointed by the Commissioners’ Court as the Justice of the Peace in Precinct 4. I thoroughly enjoyed my days serving the community of Tenaha, where I made lifelong friends.

On September 8th, 2025, I was appointed by the District Court Judges to fill a vacant position as District Clerk of Shelby County. In the last few months, I believe I have made a difference.

Having said that, I am announcing to you that I am running for District Clerk of Shelby County in the March 2026 primary election on the Republican Ticket. I appreciate your consideration, and I promise to continue in this position with the same integrity, dedication, and attention it deserves.
