April 10, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, April 10.
The fateful, shocking news came across the wires on April 10, 1970. What tragic event occurred on that day? The Beatles announced to the world that they were breaking up. And a generation mourned.
Formed in 1960, the famed rock band from England had literally rocked the world. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are commonly regarded as the most influential music group in history. To date, over 600 million Beatles records have sold, and they hold the U.S. record with twenty #1 songs. But the Beatle’s impact was far more than musical. Time magazine named them among the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
And on April 10, 1970, when it all ended, all four Beatles... were still in their twenties! Can you imagine? They all, of course, went on to make lots more great music - Paul and Ringo (in their eighties!) are still at it. But their legacy was etched into history when they they were just “four young lads from Liverpool.”
Here are some under-thirty heroes from the Word - Daniel, Ruth, Joseph, Samuel, Esther, David, Jonathan, Solomon, Mary, Mark, Timothy - just to name a few. Each of these Bible characters is worthy of study, and their stories remind us that God loves young people, and gives them the opportunity and the power to change the world!
Meet you back here on Monday,
David
