David's Daily Devotion for April 21

April 21, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, April 21.

Have you heard about the “America Reads the Bible” event happening this week in Washington? About 500 people, some famous and some not, are reading through the Word at the Museum of the Bible in D.C. A few of the readings will be pre-recorded, including one that will be shown at 5 p.m. CST today. It will feature the famous verse, 2 Chronicles 7:14, and will be read by the President. The entire event is streaming online at Great American Pure Flix.

A few years ago, I hosted a Read Through the New Testament project at my church. We enlisted 24 members, each of whom read for one hour. We streamed it on Facebook Live (the President was not involved!). It took us a little over 24 hours to do it. Did you realize you could read the New Testament in just over one day? What if you committed to reading it for just one hour a day? You would reach Revelation in under a month. Do you devote at least an hour a day to TV or to internet news or to social media? Just a thought.

In case you don’t have the opportunity to tune into President Trump this evening, here’s that famous verse that he’ll be reading - “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
