June 24, 2026 - Timpson Frontier Days has come to Shelby County again and the Pony Express has been spreading the word.

Cowboy Brian Sample teamed up with “Johnny Ringo” the Palomino to assist Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce President Paul Smith on carrying the word to area towns inviting anyone in the community to join in the Frontier Days festivities.

The group first gathered in Timpson itself on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and Smith presented Sample with the invitations to the 64th Frontier Days taking place on June 25 through June 28, 2026 on the Timpson city square.

“This starts Timpson Frontier Days off, 2026, the 64th year and every year it started off with the pony express going and inviting our neighboring towns,” said Smith.

Smith remarked on the pony express used to have to ride the distance from town to town to deliver the invitations to the event.

“We welcome everybody to Timpson Frontier Days 2026,” said Smith.

The delivery team then traveled to Center, Tenaha, Joaquin and Mt. Enterprise to announce the coming event and welcome all who would like to attend.
