June 25, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, June 25.
Here’s some old sayings. You’ve probably heard all, or at least most of them.
Haste makes waste
A rolling stone gathers no moss
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth
You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink
Don’t put the cart before the horse. (Why are so many of these about horses?!)
All that glitters is not gold
People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones
A stitch in time saves nine
Well, you get the idea. Sometimes we make fun of these old sayings, but they’ve been around long enough to be called old because there’s truth in them. Here’s some really old sayings. There’s truth in them too.
Pride goes before a fall (Proverbs 16:18)
He who walks with wise men will be wise (13:20)
Man makes his plans but God directs his steps (16:9)
A gentle answer turns away wrath (15:1)
Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another (27:17)
There is a way that seems right to man, but its end is the way of death (14:2)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (9:10)
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
