Shelby County Commissioners’ Court Notice of Special Meeting, Sept. 16 Agenda

September 10, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 16th day of September, 2026 at 9:45am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:

1. Approve weekly expenses.

2. Public comments on agenda item.

3. Discuss and possibly take action to Adopt the Budget for FY 2026-2027.

4. Discuss and possibly take action to Adopt the Tax Rate for FY 2026-2027.

5. Ratify the 2026-2027 Approved Budget which will require raising more revenue from property taxes than the previous year.

6. Open sealed bids for a 2014 F150 Ford Pickup, offered by PCT 4.

7. Discuss and possibly take action on the asbestos removal at the former Elementary School at 214 Nacogdoches Street.

8. Discuss and possibly consider the renewal of the lease agreement between Double T Realty and Shelby County for the lease of the JP5 office building located in Timpson.

9. Discuss and possibly approve Pct 3 Commissioner to purchase the half interest of a Front-End Loader from Commissioner Pct 4.  This equipment has previously been shared by both Commissioners.

10. Discuss and possibly set the Regular Term of the Commissioners Court as the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am on the 2nd floor of the Shelby County Courthouse.

11. Chief Deputy, Mike Hanson to present a clarification of the initial cost and the recurring cost of the ALPR Protection Plan that was first presented to the Court on Sept 2nd, 2026.

12. Discuss and consider implementing a Declaration and Order Prohibiting Outdoor Burning.

13. Commissioners' Court Reports: These are for informational purposes only. Any action that needs to be taken on the basis of these reports will be placed on a future agenda for action.
