September 17, 2026 - Two Shelby County football team's experienced narrow victories and another team blew away their appoint.
The Center Roughriders varsity fell on the road to the Nacogdoches Dragons by a 19-14 score. CHS is now 0-3 and they will travel to Malakoff on Friday, September 18. Kickoff is at 7pm. The Malakoff Tigers are 3-0 after beating Grandview 40-7 last week.
The Tenaha Tigers earned a narrowing 42-41 victory at Big Sandy last week. Tenaha is now 2-1 and will host the Union Grove Lions on Friday, September 18 at 7pm. The Lions are 3-0 after defeating Elkhart by a 30-6 score.
The Shelbyville Dragons won their 2026 Homecoming game against the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs by a score of 42-9. The Dragons hit the road again to take on the Arp Tigers on Friday, September 18 at 7:30pm. Arp is 3-0. They won against White Oak last week by a 46-7 score.
The Timpson Bears won their 2026 Homecoming game against the Lovelady Lions by a score of 6-0. The Bears will host Palestine Westwood on Thursday, September 17 at 7pm at John Herbert Eakin Stadium. Palestine Westwood is 0-2. Their game against Cedar Hill TLC was cancelled last week. The prior week, they fell to Malakoff 51-29.
The Joaquin Rams are 2-0 and had a bye last week. The Rams will face Grand Saline on Friday, September 18 at 7:30pm in Joaquin. The Grand Saline Indians are also undefeated after a 55-15 victory against Emory Rains last week.
