October 7, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 14th day of October, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve the minutes of: Sept 2nd Special Meeting, Sept 9th Regular Meeting, Sept 16th Special Meeting, Sept 23rd Special Meeting and Sept 30th Special Meeting.
2. Approve expenses.
3. Approve payroll.
4. Public comments on agenda item.
5. Approve officers report.
6. Discuss and possibly accept the Contract from JRJ Construction for the window restoration project at the Shelby County Historic Jail.
7. Review, discuss and possibly approve new contract with WEX/Sourcewell for county fuel cards.
8. Discuss and possibly approve to authorize the advertisement of sealed bids for road maintenance materials for Shelby County for FY 2026-2027.
9. Review, discuss and possibly approve 2027 TechShare Service Addendum for District Attorney and County Attorney.
10. Review, discuss and possibly approve new phone system and convert to Pineywoods Voice for Juvenile Probation office. This will connect them to all the other county offices through the new phone system. Their internet service will remain with Etex.
11. Discuss and possibly approve the Contract for Management Services between Shelby County and Traylor & Associates on behalf of Paxton Water System Contract # CDV25-0422.
12. Discuss and possibly approve the request of the SCSO to participate in 287g Task Force Model Program.
13. Discuss and possibly approve the request of the SCSO to seek Texas SB8 Grant Funding.
Executive Session:
14. An Executive Session will also be held for the purpose of discussing personnel: To deliberate the appointment, employment evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee. The closed session is authorized by Texas Open Meeting Act, Texas Government Code Section 551.074.
15. Reopen public meeting.
16. Discuss and possibly make a decision on issues discussed in Executive Session.
17. Commissioners’ Court Reports: These are for informational purposes only. Any action that needs to be taken on the basis of these reports will be placed on a future agenda for action.
