November 4, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, November 4.
On November 4, 1922, British archeologist, Howard Carter, opened an ancient tomb in Egypt. It was the burial place of the pharaoh, Tutankhamen. Carter found over 5000 artifacts, including a solid gold coffin. It remains the greatest archeological discovery of all time. A tremendous treasure.
King Tut, as he was nicknamed, was a boy king, ascending to the throne at the age of eight, and dead by eighteen. That was thirteen centuries before the birth of Christ. Three centuries before Tut there was another pharaoh, we’re not even sure of his name. But we know that he had a trusted aide whose name was Joseph, and his life is one of the greatest stories of the Old Testament.
Theologians consider Joseph to be a “type” of Christ, a symbol, a harbinger, a foretelling of who and what the Messiah would be. When we study Joseph, we gain a clearer understanding of Jesus. That is time well spent. A great discovery. A tremendous treasure.
Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
