November 6, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, November 6.
This has been a week of big news stories, mostly centered on the elections. But there was another story, and it has lingered in my mind. Perhaps you saw it. On Sunday morning, a private jet took off from Austin, heading east for the Bahamas. It carried seven passengers and a flight crew of two. It carried a young family, including a mom and dad and two young children. They were on their way to a birthday party.
Early in the afternoon, the jet encountered a huge storm cell. Details are still to be discovered, if they ever are, but radar showed the plane losing control and plummeting at speeds of over 300 miles per hour. At 1:50pm it crashed. Perhaps you saw the video, taken from a passing car, of the jet plunging to the earth like a missile. A chilling, horrific picture.
And then there was the audio of the young co-pilot as she, in the last seconds, gave information to air traffic controllers. “Mayday! Mayday!” “We’re going to crash into the ground!” And finally, right before the tape stopped, her last words, words that have lingered in my mind . . . “We’re out of time”.
James 4:14 - Your life is a mist, a vapor, that appears for a little while, and then vanishes.
John 9:4 - As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
Meet you back here on Monday,
David
