Franklin D. “Jessie” Jones, 87, of Schulenburg, Texas passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, surrounded by loved ones in Schulenburg, Texas. He was born on July 12, 1933, in Garrison, Texas to the late Warren Jones and Ovie (Shipp) Jones. Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Cold Springs Baptist Church, FM 95N, Garrison, Texas with Bro. Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1PM at Cold Springs Baptist Church, Garrison.

Jessie was born and raised in Garrison, Texas. He graduated Garrison High School. Jessie entered the workforce and became a welder-burner for many years. He met the love of his life, Billye Rose Seifert, in Houston, Texas through mutual friends. They were married on August 16, 1958, and the two have spent over 62 years together before his passing. Some might know Jessie as “Pullet” or “Speedy”. These are names he earned throughout the years that were special to some. Jessie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent lots of time gardening, and enjoying the outdoors. You could find him watching the Dallas Cowboys playing and attending family reunions. He loved his family and took great care of them. Jessie especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Carson. 

He is survived by:

Loving wife, Billye Rose Jones

Daughter, Lisa Michelle and husband Mike Hoffart

Grandson, Carson James Austin

Brother, Lamar “Rooster” Jones and wife Ruth

Sister, Laverne Chandler

Along with sister-in-law, Geneva Jones

Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Jessie is preceded in death by father Warren Jones and mother Ovie Shipp Jones. Along with his baby brother Monroe Jones and son-in-law James Bruce Austin, father of Carson James Austin.

Pallbearers serving will be Terry Chandler, Jerry Chandler, Jeff Jones, Justin Jones, Ryan Baker, and Nicholas Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers serving will be Joshua Jones, Raiden Martinez, Buddy Baker, Wes Chandler, Nash Chandler, John Cranford, Josh Baker, Cole Chandler, Jonnie Fojtik, and Ronnie Fojtik.
