She received secretarial training at Henderson Business College, several earned certificates in finance and accounting. During WWII, she worked in Orange in the shipyard in the personnel office. She enjoyed attending many events in Timpson and Tenaha at the civic arenas and the schools. The Reeh’s were grateful for the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people in Shelby County with whom they formed a warm friendship and bond. She retired only after selling the paper in 2010.

Florence and Doug were members of the Timpson and Shelby County Chambers of Commerce and the Tenaha Businessmen’s Club.
