Samantha Faye Cotton Johnson (Sam or Aunt Mat), 85, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on 

July 6, 2019 at Nacogdoches Medical Center. Visitations will begin Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m at Sid Roberts Funeral Home, 3535 S.E. Stallings Dr. Nacogdoches, TX. Services will be on Saturday, July 13, 2019-11:00 a.m. at Sweet Union Baptist Church, 530 Hartt St., Garrison, TX 75946 with Rev. Billy Gardner Pastor/Eulogist, Elder Donald Baker, Officiating. Committal & Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery in Garrison, TX. She was a lifetime resident of Garrison, TX a place that she loved and adored.

Born to the union of Percy “Snap” Cotton and Fronia Hartsfield Cotton. She was reared with 7 siblings which all proceeded her in death. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Garrison High School in 1953. She was employed by Stephen F. Austin State University and Aramark, where she retired after “25” years of service. During her time at Stephen F. Austin she made many lifetime friends that either became family or were discovered to be family.
 
Samantha Johnson is proceeded in death by her parents Percy and Fronia Cotton, Husband John F. Johnson Sr. “Johnny” 7 Siblings Choice Graves, Olpheia Cotton, Bertie Simon, James Cotton, Percy Cotton Jr., Annie Bell Willis, and Nolan Cotton.
