Charles David Alexander, 54 years old, passed away on October 4th of 2018 in Corpus Christi, TX. David was born in Center, TX on February 23rd, 1964. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Tommie LaMyrl and Charles Hershel Alexander. He is survived by his three children, Kayla, Lauren, and Joshua, and one grandchild, Kelly.
David grew up in the small east Texas town of Timpson. His teenage years were full of waterskiing and spending time on the lake with family and friends.
David entered the workforce as a floor hand on his father’s drilling rig in the early 1980s, instilling a love for the oilfield that would later give him experience in the manufacturing business.
David was a passionate follower of God and unwavering in his faith. He became a brother of the Texas Freemasonry in 2007, where he advocated and excelled in the gift of giving. David obtained many leadership positions throughout his time as a Mason, including Worshipful Master across numerous lodges in Texas. He was also the Vice-President of the Grand Lodge Audit Committee and Chairman of the 2020 Grand Masters Planning Committee.
If there was any task David loved more than his philanthropic endeavors, it was his job as a father and grandfather. His pride lived in the lives of his children and granddaughter.
In his free time David was an avid hunter. His trophy room is a reflection of the love he had for the great outdoors. Many trips were made with his daughter Lauren, son Joshua and older brother Billy. Colorado was a favorite destination.
In the early 90s David moved to Houston to work closely with his dad in the family business. Within a few years he was a 50% owner of Pyramid Alloys. Over the years David relocated the business from the Houston area to Corpus Christi where it remained open, operating dually with Timpson Tamco, Inc until David’s health prevented his active participation. For the past 6 years, David and his brother Billy and sister Teri owned and operated the business together, carrying on their parents legacy.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, October 8th, at the Al-Amin Shrine Temple in Corpus Christi, TX. Burial will be at 2pm on Tuesday, October 9th, in Patroon, TX.
Services are under the direction of Sawyer-George Funeral Home, Corpus Christi, Texas.
