April 20, 2015 - Pre K News - (Pictures are taken by Penny Ramsey) This week, Timpson Elementary School Pre-K has been talking about different animals that fly. We have talked about how and why they fly, what is needed to fly and the difference in airplanes and birds. On Wednesday, Pre-K made bird nests out of twigs, grass, leaves and yarn. We talked about that birds leave in nest and lay eggs in nest. We also talked about that birds eat worms.

Books Needed - Timpson Elementary School staff is requesting that if you have children's book that are appropriate for students in elementary school that you would like to donate, please bring them by the elementary office. We have a wonderful library where students can regularly check out books but we would like to increase the number of books students have access to in all of our classrooms. Reading is an essential skill for academic success and provides much enjoyment for students. We appreciate your help in getting as many books possible into the hands of our students. These books will also provide students with summer reading opportunities.

April 22, 2015 - The boys doubles team of Adam Reeves / Alec Lucas and girls doubles team of Julie Garcia / Malory Nehring finished 2nd at the UIL Region 3 tournament yesterday and earned a spot in the State Tournament. Both teams had an outstanding tournament making the finals before losing to the eventual region champions in a nail biter. The boys doubles score was 7-5, 5-7, 6-7 and the girls score was 4-6, 1-6. Center was well represented at this years tournament with 14 region qualifiers and now 4 state qualifiers.

Many opposing coaches and fans went out of their way to compliment our players , parents, and coaches about our players high level of sportsmanship, character and determination on the court. Words cannot describe the amount of pride and honor it is to work with this incredible group, and hear those kind words about our players and this team.

Center also had their other boys and girls doubles reach the region semifinals and finish 4th in the region. They are all seniors as follows: Chris Dunn / Kamden Lucas and Faith Lengl / Rylee Hudspeth.

In mixed doubles the teams of Dustin Bennett / Sheridan Cassell (senior) and Allison Langford / Tony Garcia lost in 3 sets on the first day to teams that went on to make the semifinals.
Both teams were just a few points a way from being region semifinalists as well.

In singles, Zack Fausett (sophomore) faced a tough first round opponent but gained alot of experience in his first region tournament. Whitlee Reed (sophomore) won her first round reaching the region quarterfinals before losing to a state qualifier who finished 2nd in the tournament.

Both Zack and Whitlee as well as Tony, Allison, Julie, Malory and Dustin will be returning and the future looks bright!!

To all of our Seniors of 2015, Thank You. The success you have had on the court is only the beginning of the success you are going to have off the court.
