Commissioners Lift Burn Ban; Caution Advised

September 9, 2026 - The Shelby County Commissioners have lifted the burn ban during court held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

It is encoursged that anyone planning to burn let your volunteer fire department know, and ask that they be on standby.

Commissioner Tom Bellmyer commented there is a lot of opportunity for common sense burning.

Caution when burning is advised.

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Shelbyville Man on Murder Charge (Update)

September 8, 2026 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed Devlyn Ingerton, 27, of Shelbyville was arrested for murder, felony 1, as the result of a shooting incident involving his father William Ingerton on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

George Bowers Drive at US 59 Off-Ramp Scene of Two-Vehicle Crash (Update - 8:36pm)

September 4, 2026 - The US Highway 59 exit ramp at the intersection with George Bowers Drive in Tenaha was the scene of a major two-vehicle crash Friday, September 4, 2026.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash location to come to the aid of those involved.
