Center PD Reports of Shooting Incident at Residence on Shelbyville St.

July 1, 2024 - Emergency personnel responded to a shooting incident which claimed the life of one individual in Center on Saturday at a residence just near the police department.

Tree Removal to Shut Down Portion of San Augustine Street

June 30, 2024 -As of 10:42am, the removal of the tree has been completed and the flow of traffic has returned to normal.

A large tree is scheduled to be removed at the intersection of San Augustine and Field Streets in Center on July 1, 2024.

DPS Investigating Fatal Crash on US Hwy 59 Near Timpson

June 28, 2024 - Emergency responders headed to the location of a major two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and FM 2667 outside of Timpson at around 1:35am on June 28, 2024.

Timpson Volunteer Fire Department personnel were assisted at the scene by Tenaha Volunteer Fire Department and the roadway was shutdown for emergency personnel to address the needs of the situation.

Center PD Reports Stabbing Death of Center Man (Updated)

June 18, 2024 - (Update): Center Police Department booking information indicates Tameka Landon, 51, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, felony 3, on June 16, 2024 and was transferred to the Shelby County Jail on June 17, 2024.

According to information from the Center Police Department responded to a 911 call at 910 Twilight Lane in reference to a disturbance on June 15, 2024, at approximately 10:23pm

While officers were en-route, 911 communications remained on the line with the caller, and instructed the caller on life-saving measures.
