December 4, 2023 is the Last Day to Return Ballots
November 15, 2023 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Angelina-Nacogdoches-Trinity-San Augustine-Shelby County FSA office or postmarked by Dec. 4, 2023.

June 15, 2022 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) is now accepting nominations for county committee members. Elections will occur in certain Local Administrative Areas (LAA) for members. LAAs are elective areas for FSA committees in a single county or multi-county jurisdiction. This may include LAAs that are focused on an urban or suburban area.
July 23, 2021 – `Nacogdoches-Angelina-Trinity-San Augustine-Shelby County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Lance Jacobs, announced that the nomination period for local FSA county committee began on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.
"County Committees are unique to FSA and allow producers to have a voice on federal farm program implementation at the local level," said Jacobs.
April 16, 2021 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced that signup has reopened for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 (CFAP 2) as part of the Pandemic Assistance for Producers initiative. The initial CFAP 2 signup ended on Dec. 11, 2020, but USDA has reopened sign-up for CFAP 2 for at least 60 days beginning April 5, 2021, for producers to apply or make modifications to existing CFAP 2 applications.
December 17, 2020 - USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) helped farmers, livestock producers and foresters weather a tough 2020, marked with a pandemic and natural disasters. During the COVID-19 pandemic, FSA continued to deliver farm programs to producers through phone and online tools, using social distancing guidelines. The agency also provided extra flexibilities to its programs, adjusting reporting dates and loan processing timelines, and continued to expand technology and streamline services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
December 1, 2020 - Ballots for the 2020 Angelina-Nacogdoches-Trinity-San Augustine-Shelby Farm Service Agency county committee elections began on Monday, November 2, with the mailing of ballots to eligible voters. The deadline to return the ballots to local FSA offices, or to be postmarked, is Monday, December 7, 2020.
Expansion of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program Begins Sept. 21
September 21, 2020 - President Donald J. Trump and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced up to an additional $14 billion for agricultural producers who continue to face market disruptions and associated costs because of COVID-19. Signup for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP 2) will begin Sept. 21 and run through Dec. 11, 2020.
