October 29, 2025 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries need canned food donations as well as monetary donations due to the Government Shutdown. Our organization received a call from the Food Stamp Department wanting us to be aware that as of right now no one will be receiving food stamps for the month of November.
Shelby County Outreach has been serving up to 500 families monthly prior to this new situation. We are asking for businesses, church families, organizations, anyone that can help to please do so.
October 22, 2025 - First Methodist Church of Shelbyville would like to invite everyone to our 200th Anniversary on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 2pm where we will celebrate 200 years since the formation of our congregation. The speaker will be Bishop Kenneth Levingston.

April 25, 2025 - Shelby County Outreach would like to invite everyone to our Senior Nutrition Site Friday, May 2, at noon.
We will have our drawing for the portable building raffle and dedication of our Adam Morehead Memorial Library. For those who have not purchased a ticket yet, there are some chances still available, $20 for one or 6 for $100. Lunch will be served at 11:30am and the charge is $10 for those under 60 years of age and a suggested donation of $6 for those who are 60 and older.
December 23, 2024 - Sherry Harding invites everyone to First Methodist Church of Shelbyville Christmas Eve Service on December 24, 2024. It will begin at 6pm. All are welcome.
September 22, 2023 - Short Community Homecoming and Singing is Sunday, October 8, 2023. Potluck Dinner at 12 noon. Open microphone singing begins at 1:30pm.

October 2, 2019 - Short Community Church is hosting their 2019 Homecoming and Singing on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Potluck dinner is at 12 noon and singing begins at 1:30pm.
