August 10, 2020 - Door to door with the enumerators is about to begin with the next phase for Non-response Follow-Up (NRFU) and in Texas it starts August 11. With 500K Enumerators or Census Takers deployed, they will be showing up to households and interviewing them in-person. Shelby County so far has a self-response rate of 44.3% which is an increase of less than 1% since June 14th when Shelby County was reportedly at 43.5% response rate.

According to Census coordinator Luciana Barr, she advises, "We lose 1,600 dollars per person not counted for our County, that is 4,600 for a family of 4. If our state has 1% not counted that is 500 million dollars."
