Center Fire Department Fights Chicken House Fire

February 29, 2016 - Center firemen responded to a chicken house fire at 6:28pm on Thursday, February 25, 2016 located near Loop 500 on FM 2468.

When the firemen arrived, the front half of the building was on fire. Water was applied and the fire was able to be quickly extinguished. The property was owned by Bobby Jean Adams and the chicken house was not currently being used for raising chickens. Instead, it has been being used for organic tomato growing.

As a result of the fire the majority of the front of the building was destroyed; however, the remaining back half was still intact. The cause of the fire was unknown.
