March 14, 2022 - The Center Garden Club met at noon on Wednesday, March 9th, at the Agri-Life building in Center. The meeting was led by President, Carolyn Bounds. Following the Pledge, reports were given and plans were confirmed for the last two meetings of the year. The April meeting will be an excursion to San Augustine with plans to visit Mission Dolores and other historical sites. The club's plant sale was set for Friday, April 1st, starting at 8am on the Center Square.

Janette Wittmann reported on her special club project; a musical program dedicated to nature and scheduled for the evening of Thursday, April 28 at 6:30pm at the Chadwick Chapel, First Baptist Church in Center. It will be Center Garden Club's, and the performers', gift to the community. The public is cordially invited to attend.

The program had been planned by Co-Hostess, Shirley Owens, who was unable to attend due to being at the hospital with her husband, Bennie. She did, however; send a wonderful display and lots of material on House Plants that Clean the Air. Following the meeting, a prayer was given by Robbie Kerr which included a special prayer for Ukraine. Co-hostess, Janette Wittmann, also, provided blue and yellow ribbons for each member to wear in support of Ukraine. Lunch was served by Janette and was assisted by Carole Ann Chance; decorated with a Saint Patrick's Day green theme.

Anyone wishing to visit or join the Center Garden Club can contact Cherry Jones at 598-4611 or Carolyn Bounds at 598-3414; the club meets on the second Wednesday, September through May.
