Stuart Burson

The majority of the attendees were young men and Burson spoke much about Toxic Masculinity and how society reinforces it via social media, television, as well as in advertising campaigns.

Burson focused on helping the young men attending learn about healthy and unhealthy relationships.

The C.H.A.N.G.E. (Community Helping Adolescents Naturally Grow and Excel) program focuses on empowering youth. It was developed by the Shelby County Juvenile Probation Department to further the mission of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (T.J.J.D.) to “transform young lives and create safer communities.” It's target population is youth who are ages 6 or older and younger than 17. The community-based program's goal is to prevent or intervene in at-risk behaviors that lead to delinquency, truancy, dropping out of school, or referral to the juvenile justice system.
