David’s Daily Devotion for Jan. 12

January 12, 2023 - Good Morning!  It's Thursday, January 12.

I watched a movie the other night about the behind-the-scenes world of a restaurant kitchen.  It was violent.  It was chaotic.  It was crazy!  The movie wasn't a documentary, it was a fictional story.  So, I wondered - is that really the way it is?

I have a friend who's a chef and so I asked him if that movie was true to life.  He quickly assured me that working in a high-pressure restaurant, under a tyrannical chef . . . was exactly like that!  I asked him how anyone could put up with those kinds of conditions, day after day.  His answer was simple - if that's what you're called to do, then that's what you do.  And no other job could ever compare.

I began to think about the calling that comes from God.  I'm not talking about paid, career ministers - I'm talking about every Christian.  He has a plan for each of us.  He has a purpose for our lives.  He has a calling for me, and for you.  And nothing else could ever compare.

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
