David’s Daily Devotion for June 18

June 18, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, June 18.

He plays dozens of musical instruments and is a master of several. He has a vocal range that reaches an incredible four octaves. He has won 18 Grammy awards, an Emmy, an Oscar, and is a Knight of the British Empire. He is worth more than a billion dollars. He is the most successful songwriter in the history of the world. Today he celebrates his 82nd birthday. His name is Paul McCartney.

When most people hear that name, they think "Beatles". But Paul was just 27 when that legendary group disbanded. During the last 55 years, during his "second act", he has found a way to remain in the top echelon of entertainment and culture. He remains one of the most famous and most respected humans on the planet.

Is Paul McCartney a Christian? He was baptized into the Roman Catholic faith, but as an adult he has described himself as "not religious, but spiritual". So, no scriptures in today's devotion - just some lyrics.

"Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting, my friend."

"Take these broken wings and learn to fly."

And the final lyric of the final song on the final Beatles album . . .

"In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
