David’s Daily Devotion for March 31

March 31, 2023 - Good Morning!  It’s Friday, March 31.

As we complete our week-long series on praise, we stand at the threshold of Holy Week.  Starting Monday, we'll focus on what happened each day of the week that led to that first Easter morning.  We’ll retrace the footsteps of Jesus.  We’ll walk with Him on His final journey.

Can you think of a moment in your life when you were on the threshold of a great journey?  Maybe the day before a long-awaited vacation trip.  Perhaps the day before you went away to college or the day before you got married.  Remember that mixture of excitement and nervousness?  Remember the feelings of anticipation and uncertainty?  Now multiply that by a million and you begin to approach the atmosphere in Jerusalem on that first Palm Sunday.

At the end of that week, Jesus would be crucified like a criminal.  But at the beginning of that week, He rode into the city . . . like a King.

Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!  Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!  Behold, your King is coming to you; righteous and bringing salvation, humble and riding on a donkey.

Meet you back here on Monday, as we begin our journey.
