David’s Daily Devotion for May 9

May 9, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, May 9.

We focus today on a man who had to wait 70 long years for a job. Are you good at waiting? I'm not. They say that patience is a virtue, but it's not one of my strengths. This man, let's say his name is Charles, was four years old when his mom got her job, let's say it was queen. And last weekend this man finally got to wear the crown, after 70 years of waiting.

The Bible is full of characters that had long waits. Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for their son Isaac. Jacob waited 14 years for his true love Rachel. David waited 22 years to wear his crown. Waiting is part of life, part of the Christian life. Here's one of my favorite scriptures, written by King David.

"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning." Psalm 130:5-6.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
