David's Daily Devotion for April 25

April 25, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, April 25.

Last Sunday at First Baptist Center, we added a new song to our worship repertoire - “Holy Forever”. Written in 2022 by Chris Tomlin and Phil Wickham, it’s a simple, powerful song of praise. I encourage you to check it out. Here are some of the lyrics -

A thousand generations falling down in worship
To sing the song of ages to the Lamb
And all who've gone before us
And all who will believe
Will sing the song of ages to the Lamb

And the angels cry, Holy
All creation cries, Holy
You are lifted high, Holy, Holy Forever

This song reminds us of a simple, powerful truth. When we worship, we're not only connected to God, we're connected to all the worshippers past, present, and future. We're connected to the Magi who fell in worship before the newborn King, we're connected to Paul and Silas who sang worship songs at midnight in jail.

When we worship, we stand alongside those who lift their voices in magnificent cathedrals, we stand with those who sing softly in secret churches. And when we worship, we join with the multitudes who, at the end of time, will bow the knee and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Take a moment today to "sing the song of ages to the Lamb."

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
