David's Daily Devotion for April 28

April 28, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, April 28.

I love the book of Proverbs! Theologians agree that King Solomon - a man known for his wisdom - wrote most of these wise little truths. There are a few long passages in Proverbs - like the famous description of a godly woman in chapter 31 - but most of the book features single verse, bite size thoughts to live by. Here are a few of my favorites for you to chew on today . . .

9:10. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

13:12. There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death.

16:9. In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

10:19. When words are many, sin is present, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

17:22. A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

14:34. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

15:1. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

18:10. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe.

3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.

Have a great Saturday and a blessed Sunday.

Meet you back here on Monday,
