David's Daily Devotion for April 4

April 4, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday of Holy Week, and we continue to look at what Jesus was doing each day of the week that led to the first Easter Sunday.

Tuesday was a day of teaching for Jesus. He shared the parables of the fig tree and the vineyard. He told the story of the widow with the two small coins. He answered the pharisees by saying, "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's." Jesus was true to His calling. Even as He was being persecuted and plotted against - He continued to teach. Even knowing full well how this week would end - He continued to teach. Even just three days from Calvary - He continued to teach. Jesus was faithful.

God doesn't need our talents. He just wants our faithfulness.

You can read all that Jesus taught on the Tuesday of Holy Week in Luke 20 & 21. In 21:33 we read this - Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall never pass away.

Here's a lyric, from the Contemporary Christian group Mercy Me, that seemed appropriate for today.

Word of God speak
Won’t you pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see Your majesty
To be still and know that You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest in Your holiness
Word of God speak...

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
