January 18, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, January 18.
First Baptist Church of Center, Texas is blessed to have Dr. Tim Watson as our interim pastor. Bro. Tim is leading us through a time of transition, and is currently preaching a sermon series on getting back to the basics. Each letter in BASICS represents one of the foundations of our faith. Two weeks ago, the letter was “B”, for Bible study. Last Sunday the letter “A” stood for adoration, as he spoke on the subject of worship. This Sunday, “S” will remind us of the importance of soul-winning, of evangelism.
And this Sunday we’ll be singing a contemporary Christian song called “Mighty to Save” - a song inspired by Luke 6:45. “From the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks”. Evangelism is just telling the story, the gospel story, His story, our story. Here are some lyrics from an old gospel hymn that reminds us of that. We’ll be singing this song Sunday, too.
